Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my wi-fi keep cutting out?
Your Wi-Fi could be dropping out for a number of reasons, some in your control and others not so much. Common causes include weak signal from the device placement, wireless interference, overloaded network, device overheating, firmware bugs, or ISP issues. We’ll explore all of the above to ensure you get a better signal, resolving local issues and those with your ISP as required.
Why is my Wi‑Fi slower than my plan?
Slower speeds typically point to a problem somewhere between your devices, your local network or with your ISP. (Internet Service Provider) It’s common for you to not get the full speed advertised, however it should be relatively close. The exception here is during peak hours, when more users are online, resulting in network congestion.
How long does it take to fix my network?
This highly depends on what’s wrong. Small fixes (config tweaks or a quick remote check) are often done within an hour. Coverage issues or a basic mesh install usually take a few hours on site. Hardware swaps or upgrades typically run half a day to a full day. Larger business installs or cabling work can take one to three days, and tricky intermittent or ISP-related faults may take a few days while we diagnose and coordinate with your provider.
We will always try and give you a clear ETA after a quick chat and initial checks, and will always keep you updated if anything changes.
How long do new network install take?
For most homes a straightforward Wi‑Fi install or mesh setup is done in a couple of hours. Small business installs (single floor, a handful of access points) are usually completed in one day. Larger business sites — multiple floors, outdoor coverage, lots of wired drops or structured cabling — typically take 1–3 days. It’s best to reach out to us so can learn more about your networking needs, and provide you with an accurate timeline.
What hardware do you recommend?
We’ll work with you to pick hardware that fits your needs and your budget. For most homes and small shops I use reliable, easy‑to‑manage kit (think solid performance without being fussy). For bigger offices, warehouses, or places that need extra reliability and security, we use professional-grade kit that’s built to handle more users and business traffic.
